In Psalms chapter eighty two Asaph said, “Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course”, and in chapter eighty two and verse six of Psalms Asaph said, “I have said, You are gods”, where we read,
I have said, You are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
The verse begins, “I have said, You are gods;” Asaph began with the words, “I have said” or “I, Asaph, have uttered, declared and proclaimed”, “you are gods” which means “you, people of Israel, exist as rulers, judges and magistrates”. Asaph shared how he proclaimed that the people of Israel existed as judges and rulers.
The verse continues, “and all of you are children of the most High.” Asaph added the words, “and all of you” or “and each, every, the whole and everyone of you, the people of Israel” “are children” which means “exist as offspring and progeny” “of the most High” or “belonging to the elevated, lofty and Supreme God”. Asaph declared every one of the people of Israel to be the offspring of the Supreme God Jehovah.
When we consider the words in this verse, we discover how Asaph declared the people of Israel to be “gods” or “judges and rulers”. Each of them made judgments concerning the ways of Jehovah God, and Asaph said it was because they were His offspring. God loves everyone, and He gave them the ability to make decisions concerning Him and others. He invites us to receive His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, and He sent Him into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to fulfill the position of judge according to His merciful manner and way.
Next time Asaph says, “you shall die like men”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Are you of the opinion that we are "little gods" as sons of God because the Holy Spirit resides in us? See John 10:34-38 AMPC
ReplyDelete[34] Jesus answered, Is it not written in your Law, I said, You are gods? [Ps. 82:6.] [35] So men are called gods [by the Law], men to whom God's message came–and the Scripture cannot be set aside or cancelled or broken or annulled– [36] [If that is true] do you say of the One Whom the Father consecrated and dedicated and set apart for Himself and sent into the world, You are blaspheming, because I said, I am the Son of God? [37] If I am not doing the works [performing the deeds] of My Father, then do not believe Me [do not adhere to Me and trust Me and rely on Me]. [38] But if I do them, even though you do not believe Me or have faith in Me, [at least] believe the works and have faith in what I do, in order that you may know and understand [clearly] that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father [One with Him]. https://bible.com/bible/8/jhn.10.34.AMPC
