Revived After Two Days - Hosea 6:2

In the book of Hosea, Hosea said, “Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up, and in chapter six and verse two of Hosea, Hosea said, after two days he will revive uswhere we read,

After two days will he revive us:

in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

The verse begins, After two days will he revive us:” Hosea began with the words, “after two days” or “following two periods or divisions of times” “will he revive us” which means “shall he, Jehovah God, sustain, quicken and restore us, Ephraim, Israel and Judah to life and health”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God would quicken and restore the people of Ephraim, Israel and Judah after two periods of time.

The verse goes on to say, in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.” Hosea continued with the words, “in the third day” or “within the third periods or division of times” “he will raise us up” which means “he, Jehovah God, shall confirm, establish and fulfill us, Ephraim, Israel and Judah”, “and we shall live” or “and we, Hosea and the people of Ephraim, Israel and Judah will remain alive, be restored and brought to health” “in his sight” which means “within his, Jehovah God's, front, face and countenance”. Hosea said Jehovah God would restore and bring back to life the people of Ephraim, Israel and Judah, and they would remain living before His countenance.

When we consider Hosea's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God would quicken and sustain Ephraim, Israel and Judah following two periods of time, and within the third division of time, God would restore them and bring them back to life so they could remain alive within His presence. Some believe this to be a reference to “two” thousand year periods after which God would restore Israel again, and within the third thousand years, they would remain alive in His presence. (See Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8) God wants us to live before Him for all eternity, and whether there are two and three thousand year periods or millenniums that involve Israel, when we believe and trust in His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, we shall be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and given a desire to live before His countenance forever and ever.

Next time Hosea says, Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
