The LORD's Angel Protesting - Zechariah 3:6

In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah said, “Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by”, and in chapter three and verse six of Zechariah, Zechariah shared how, “the angel of the LORD protested” where we read,

And the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying,

The verse reads, “And the angel of the LORD protested ...” Zechariah began with the words, “and the angel” or “and the spiritual messenger and envoy” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah whose name means the existing One and is the proper name for the One True God” “protested” or “returned and said again” the following words. Zechariah shared how the messenger from Jehovah God returned and uttered words according to the following. 

The verse continues, “... unto Joshua, saying, ...” Zechariah added the words, “unto Joshua” or “to Joshua whose name means Jehovah is salvation and was the high priest”, “saying” which means “uttering, declaring and proclaiming” the words in our next verse. Zechariah shared how Jehovah God's “angel” began to speak to “Joshua” according to the words in our next verse. 

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Zechariah how the messenger from Jehovah God began to speak to “Joshua” another time. God is persistent in His message to mankind. People have sinned and come short of His glory, (See Romans 3:23) and for this reason He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. (John 3:16) When we put our faith and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and speak to us according to His perfect purpose and plan.
