John the apostle wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God”, and in chapter one and verse three of his book, John wrote, “all things were made by him” where we read:
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
The verse reads, “All things were made by him;” John began with the words, “all things” or “each, every, the whole and everything that could exist” “were made” which means “came into existence, happened, received being and appeared” “by him” or “through and by means of the Word”. John shared how everything that exists “came into existence” through “the Word” or Jesus who is God.
The verse goes on to say, “and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John continued with the words, “and without him” which means “and separate and apart from the Word” “was not anything made” or “there was not one thing that came into existence, happened, received being and appeared” “that was made” which means “which came into existence, happened, received being and appeared”. John shared how there was not “any thing” that came “into existence” that could “come into existence” without “the Word” or Jesus who is God producing it.
When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus “created” everything that exists because He is God. Genesis chapter one and verse one says, “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth”, and John the apostle begins at creation to show all his readers just who Jesus was. The “Creator God” of the world was with mankind, and His desire was to have a personal relationship with everyone who believes and trusts in His Son Jesus. Let all who read these words understand who Jesus is and yield their life to the One who “made” it all.
Next time John shares in Jesus, “was life”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
