The apostle John wrote speaking of Jesus how the Jews, “sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ comes, will he do more miracles than these which this man has done? The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him. Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me”, and in chapter seven and verse thirty-four of his book, John shared how Jesus told the Pharisees, “you shall seek me, and shall not find me” where we read:
You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, there you cannot come.
The verse reads, “You shall seek me, and shall not find me:” John began with the words, “you shall seek me” or “you, Pharisees, will look for, crave, desire and require of me, Jesus”, “and shall not find me” which means “and will not discover, detect, obtain or procure me, Jesus”. John shared how Jesus told the “Pharisees” they would be looking for Him, but would not discover where He was.
The verse continues, “and where I am, there you cannot come.” John added the words, “and where I am” which means “and the location and place that I, Jesus, am present, exist and happen”, “there you cannot come” or “in that place and location you, Pharisees, will not be capable of arising, appearing or coming forth”. John shared how Jesus told the “religious leaders” known as the “Pharisees” they would not be able to “come forth nor appear” where He was.
When we think through John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus had rule over these “religious leaders” even though they desired to capture and kill Him. Jesus knew where He was going, and He knew who had access to that location. Jesus was God incarnate upon the earth, and He could do as He pleased, but specifically because these “Pharisees” were unbelievers, they would not have access to where He would be with His Father God in Heaven. God wants all people to have a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus, but if they are unbelievers in Him, they shall never be granted access to where He is. Let all who read these words carefully examine the words of Jesus and vow to never be as these “religious leaders” who would not gain access to where He is.
Next time John shares how the Jews ask, “where will he go, that we shall not find him?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
