Inquisition for Blood - Psalms 9:12

In Psalms chapter nine David speaking of Jehovah God said, “they that know your name will put their trust in you: for you, LORD, have not forsaken them that seek you. Sing praises to the LORD, which dwells in Zion: declare among the people his doings”, and in chapter nine and verse twelve of Psalms David shared what happens, “when he makes inquisition for blood” where we read,

When he makes inquisition for blood, he remembers them: he forgets not the cry of the humble.

The verse begins, When he makes inquisition for blood, he remembers them:” David began with the words, “When he makes inquisition” which means “at the time and moment he, Jehovah God, consults, resorts, demands, investigates and requires” “for blood” or “on behalf of bloodshed”, “he remembers them” which means “he, Jehovah God, recalls, calls to mind and has remembrance of the people who have been murdered”. David shared how God avenges and remembers people who have been killed or murdered.

The verse continues,he forgets not the cry of the humble. David added the words, “he forgets not” or “he, Jehovah God, in no way ignores, ceases to care nor have lack of memory or attention to” “the cry of the humble” which means “the outcry of distress belonging to people who are poor, afflicted, weak and needy”. David wrote how Jehovah God in no way does not remember the outcry of distress from people who are afflicted, weak and needy.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through David how Jehovah God sees all bloodshed and murder, and He is well aware when people have been afflicted and abused by others. He investigates and makes demands of those who cause these injuries and deaths, and He is not oblivious to the outcries of people who have suffered. God loves people, and His desire is to have an intimate, caring and loving personal relationship with them through His Son Jesus. When we humble ourselves before Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us eternal life and hear us when we cry out to Him. God knows all things, and there is nothing hidden from His eyes. He will vindicate and avenge those who cry out to Him especially when they call out to Him for His salvation and grace by His Son Jesus.

Next time David says, “Have mercy upon me, O LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
