I Shall Never Be Moved - Psalms 30:6

In Psalms chapter thirty David said, “Sing unto the LORD, O you saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endures but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning”, and in chapter thirty and verse six of Psalms David said, “in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved”, where we read,

And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

The verse begins, And in my prosperity I said, ...” David began with the words, “And in my prosperity” which means “and within my, David's, ease and security” “I said” or “I, David, uttered, declared and proclaimed” the following words. David made the following proclamation during the time he felt at ease and secure.

The verse continues,... I shall never be moved. David added the words, “I shall never” or “I, David, will not and in no way” “be moved” which means “totter, shake, slip or exceedingly fall”. David said he would not at any time shake, slip or fall while he was secure in the LORD.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn about David's response to “joy” coming “in the morning” after a time of weeping. David's soul was at ease, and he felt so secure that he believed he would “never” totter or fall. God's desire is to have a personal relationship like this with every person, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so we may feel at ease and secure in Him. When we believe in Him and have this assurance, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life, and praise, honor and glorify Him for all eternity because we will “never be moved” from His presence.

Next time David says, LORD, by your favor you have made my mountain to stand strong:, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
