In Psalms one hundred and three David said, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy”, and in chapter one hundred three and verse nine of Psalms David said, “he will not always chide” where we read,
He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
The verse begins, “He will not always chide:” David began with the words, “He will not always” or “He, Jehovah God, shall in no way or manner perpetually and continually” “chide” which means “strive, contend and quarrel”. David said Jehovah God would in no way continually strive and contend with people.
The verse continues, “neither will he keep his anger for ever.” David added the words, “neither will he keep” or “no and not in any way shall he, Jehovah God, reserve, maintain and guard” “his anger for ever” which means “his, Jehovah God's, wrath and ire for long duration, continuous existence and perpetually and indefinite or unending future”. David said Jehovah God would in no way reserve and maintain His wrath perpetually.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David said Jehovah God would not perpetually strive and contend with people, and He would not maintain His ire indefinitely. God wants people to be in a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus who was crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. He will attempt to bring us to Himself by His Holy Spirit drawing us, but when we refuse Him over and over again, He will release us to our own choices. However, when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and “keep his anger” from being poured out upon us for our violation and rejection of Him.
Next time David says, “he has not dealt with us after our sins”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
