In Psalms one hundred and three David said, “the LORD pities them that fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourishes”, and in chapter one hundred three and verse sixteen of Psalms David said, “the wind passes over it, and it is gone” where we read,
For the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
The verse begins, “For the wind passes over it, and it is gone;” David began with the words, “for the wind” or “because, since and on account that the blast, air and breeze” “passes over it” which means “carries, brings and moves above the grass or flower”, “and it is gone” or “and it, the flowers or the grass, exists as nothing, nought and departed”. David said the breeze moves above the flowers grass and they become as nothing.
The verse goes on to say, “and the place thereof shall know it no more.” David continued with the words, “and the place thereof” or “and the location where the flowers and grass were” “shall know it no more” which means “will recognize, discern and regard it, the flowers and grass, never again”. David said the location where the flowers and grass were once seen disregard and are unknowing of them ever again.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist compared the fleeting flowers and grass to the lifespan of most people. James the apostle wrote, “For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away” (See James 4:14), and even the longest lifespan of people on earth is short compared to eternity. God knows our spirits will live forever, and His desire is that we live eternally with Him. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross and be raised from the grave three days later for our sins so we could be forgiven, granted everlasting life and continue with Him forever. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God who provided His Son Jesus so that our temporary lives on earth will be replaced with eternal living with Him.
Next time David says, “the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
