In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon said, “Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you know not what evil shall be upon the earth”, and in chapter eleven and verse three of his book Solomon said, “if the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth” where we read,
If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall be.
The verse reads, “If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth:” Solomon began with the words, “if the clouds be full of rain” or “whether and in case the thicket, darkness and cloudy masses exist as filled, abundant and complete with showers of rain”, “they empty themselves” which means “they, the clouds, void, cast out and pour out their own selves” “upon the earth” or “on the land, ground, territory, region and world”. Solomon said in case the cloudy masses are replete with rainwater, they, themselves will pour out the rain on the ground and land.
The verse goes on to say, “and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall be.” Solomon continued with the words, “and if the tree fall” or “and whether and in case the timber, wood, plank and stalk is cast down, fails and is prostrated” “toward the south” which means “to the southern direction”, “or toward the north” or “to the northern direction”, “in the place” which means “within the location, locality and spot” “where the tree falls” or “in which the timber, wood, plank and stalk is cast down, fails and is prostrated”, “there it shall be” which means “in that place and location it, the tree, will exist”. Solomon said in case a timber wood is cast down in a southern or northern direction, within that location the “tree” will exist.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how Solomon employed the natural examples of “clouds” dropping “rain” and “trees” falling to show how nature itself responds to the edicts of God, and He wants us to follow Him as well. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind and raised Him from the dead after three days so all who put their faith and trust in Him will be forgiven of their sins, granted everlasting life and equipped with His Holy Spirit so we know and align with His truth and in keeping with His purposes and ways.
Next time Solomon says, “he that observes the wind shall not sow”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
