In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “a brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle”, and in chapter eighteen and verse twenty of Proverbs Solomon said, “a man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth” where we read,
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth;
and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
The verse begins, “A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth;” Solomon began with the words, “a man's belly” or “the abdomen or seat of hunger of a person whether male or female” “shall be satisfied” which means “will exist as sated, fulfilled, surfeited and full” “with the fruit of his mouth” or “with the bough, reward, offspring and produce belonging to the person's orifice in the face used for eating, drinking or speaking”. Solomon shared how a person's hunger is fulfilled by the produce of the orifice in their face.
The verse goes on to say, “and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.” Solomon continued with the words, “and with the increase” or “and alongside and beside the produce, revenue and yield” “of his lips” which means “pertaining to the person's physical lips used for speaking” “shall he be filled” or “will the person be sated, fulfilled, surfeited and full”. Solomon said the gain and revenue from the person's physical lips used for speaking will fulfill them.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon what a person declares has the power to fulfill them. When people have the words of Almighty God to guide their life, the core of them is made full. God loves us, and He proved His love by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to use the words we speak to satisfy and fulfill us according to His Divine will and plan.
Next time Solomon says, “death and life are in the power of the tongue”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
