In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hastes with his feet sins”, and in chapter nineteen and verse three of Proverbs Solomon said, “the foolishness of man perverts his way” where we read,
The foolishness of man perverts his way: and his heart frets against the LORD.
The verse begins, “The foolishness of man perverts his way:” Solomon began with the words, “the foolishness of man” or “the folly and silliness belonging to a person whether male or female” “perverts his way” which means “twists, distorts, subverts, overturns and ruins the person's traveled road, journey, manner, direction and path”. Solomon shared how silliness and folly subverts and ruins a person's pathway.
The verse continues, “and his heart frets against the LORD.” Solomon added the words, “and his heart frets” or “and the person's soul, mind, will, desires, living being, conscience and seat of emotions and affections vexes, enrages and makes themselves angry” “against the LORD” which means “in opposition to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon said the soul, mind and will of the foolish person enrages themselves in opposition to Jehovah God.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how folly and silliness distorts and subverts a person's journey and traveled path, and their soul, mind and will vexes and makes themselves angry in opposition to Jehovah God. God does not want us to be foolish because folly alters His path for us, and when we live in folly, our souls are hostile to Him. God loves us, and He has a plan for our lives. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and keep us from foolish ways to live in agreement with His plan for us.
Next time Solomon says, “wealth makes many friends”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
