Art thou
fallen and and cut down
has
transgression caused destruct
thou who
once sat in king's seat
from throne
thou hast been plucked
Ruin brought
thy great bay down
thou lying
now in frame
with only
stump to mark thy place
a monument of
shame
Thou tempted
one who didst give in
attractive
lust did fall
and lure thee
from thine exalt
hast brought
thee to thy pall
And now
ashamed and sullen sad
thy
countenance doth bear
the pain of
consequence for thee
the impact
now aware
Hopeless now
in thy despair
with n'er
reward in sight
for life
which once did filled thy fame
hast now
become thy plight
And reaching
out for one to care
find none to
share relief
and rid thee
of thy heart's great hurt
alleviate thy
grief
But hopeless
one with just a stump
remember down
below
be deepened
roots which thou hast grown
Creator
caused to grow
And though
they be much out of sight
within they
bear thine ease
to bring
again thy life to thee
renewed
within thy creed
And though to
rising heights not still
t'will ever
be again
the roots
below doth make thee know
with time tis
not thy end
