As God has Distributed to Every Man 1 Corinthians 7:17

Paul the apostle asked the “husbands and wives” in the church in Corinth how they knew “whether” they “shall save” their spouse if they should continue living with them, and in chapter seven and verse seventeen of First Corinthians, Paul tells what the church members are to do “as God has distributed to every man” where we read:

But as God has distributed to every man, as the Lord has called every one,
so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.

The verse begins, “But as God has distributed to every man, as the Lord has called every one, ...” Paul began with the word, “But” which is a disassociation conjunction that means what is about be written takes precedence over what is about to be stated “as God” which means “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “has distributed” or “divided, separated, split into factions and distributed” “to every man” or “each man or woman”, “as the Lord” which refers to “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title give to God the Messiah” “has called” or “uttered in a loud voice and invited” “every one” which means “each man and woman”. God, according to Paul, has “given and distributed” to each person whether male or female their certain “calling”.

The verse goes on to say, “... so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.” Paul continued with the words, “so let” which means “in this manner and thus allow and permit” “him walk” or  “make his way, progress and due use of opportunities; conduct and pass his life accordingly”. “And so ordain I” which means “in the same manner Paul arranged, appointed, prescribed and gave order” “in all churches” or “within each, every, any, the whole and everyone of the assemblies of Christians gathered for worship in a religious meeting. Since God has given different “callings” to people, they are to “make their way and progress” in whatever way that may be, and Paul felt so strongly about this that he “arranged” for this principle to be within every church.

When we consider these words from Paul, we understand that people have different “callings” or “gifts” from the Lord God. Paul instructed the Corinthian church members to “conduct themselves and pass through their lives” in the whatever way is best to use those “callings”. This is how it is to be in every church who believes in Jesus Christ as “Savior and Lord”. When a church has people “walking” in their “calling”, the church functions at its best, and the Lord Jesus is glorified. May all who read these words not only heed them, but also “walk” in their “calling” from the Lord.

Next time Paul ask the Corinthians “is any man called being circumcised” their “own bodies”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
