God Will Bless Them that Fear the LORD - Psalms 115:13

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “The LORD has been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron”, and in chapter one hundred fifteen and verse thirteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “He will bless them that fear the LORD” where we read,

He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.

The Psalmist began with the words, “He will bless them that fear the LORD, ...”. The Psalmist began, “he will bless them” or “he, Jehovah God, shall praise, salute and celebrate the people both male and female” “that fear the LORD” which means “who are afraid, reverent and in awe of Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist said that Jehovah God will salute and celebrate the people who give respect, reverence and awe to Him.

The verse goes on to say, “both small and great”. The Psalmist continued with the words, “both small” or “the people who were were young, insignificant and unimportant” “and great” which means “and distinguished, important and noble”. The Psalmist said the people who were important and unimportant would be “blessed” by Jehovah God when they “feared” Him.

When we meditate upon the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he said people who give reverence and awe to Jehovah God shall be saluted and celebrated by Him. Whether they are important according to world standard or seemingly unimportant to others, God will “bless” them. God is no respecter of people, (See Acts 10:34) and He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified for all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and “bless” us in this life and the life to come for giving honor, glory and reverence to Him.

The LORD has been Mindful of Us - Psalms 115:12

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “O Israel, trust you in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. You that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield”, and in chapter one hundred fifteen and verse twelve of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD has been mindful of us” where we read,

The LORD has been mindful of us: he will bless us;

he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

The Psalmist began with the words, “The LORD has been mindful of us: he will bless us;”. The Psalmist began, “the LORD has been mindful” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God has remembered, recalled, called to mind and made record” “of us” which means “pertaining to us, the Psalmist and his people”: “he will bless us” or “he, Jehovah God, shall praise, salute and congratulate us, the Psalmist and his people”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would remember him and his people and that He would salute and congratulate them.

The verse continues, “he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.” The Psalmist added the words, “he will bless the house” or “he, Jehovah God, shall praise, salute and congratulate the household, family, shelter, dwelling place and abode” “of Israel” which means “belonging to Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”; “he will bless the house” or “he, Jehovah God, shall praise, salute and congratulate the household, family, shelter, dwelling place and abode” “of Aaron” which means “belonging to Aaron whose name means light bringer and is the brother of Moses, a Levite and the first high priest”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would salute and congratulate the households and dwelling places of “Israel and Aaron”.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how Jehovah God remembered him and his people. He loves “Israel and Aaron” and the people within that nation. God wants to “bless” everyone, and He proved it by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be among the people whom God “blesses” and cares for throughout eternity.

You that Fear the LORD, Trust in the LORD - Psalms 115:11

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “O Israel, trust you in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield”, and in chapter one hundred fifteen and verse eleven of Psalms the Psalmist said, “you that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD” where we read,

You that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

The Psalmist began with the words, “You that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD:” The Psalmist began with the words, “you that fear the LORD” or “you, the people with the following trait, who are afraid, in awe and morally and spiritually reverent to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “trust in the LORD” which means “have faith, security and confidence within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon people who are spiritually and morally reverent to Jehovah God to put their faith and confidence within Him.

The verse goes on to say, “he is their help and their shield .” The Psalmist added the words, “he is their help” or “he, Jehovah God, exists as their, the people who fear the LORD's, aid, succorer and assistant” “and their shield” which means “and their, the people who fear the LORD's, buckler, protector and defense”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God exists as the aid, assistant and protector of people who revere Him.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist called upon the people who revere Jehovah God to put their faith and confidence in Him because He exists as their assistant and protector. God loves people, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with everyone through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and be our protector and provider as we revere and put our faith in Him.

House of Aaron, Trust in the LORD - Psalms 115:10

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “O Israel, trust you in the LORD: he is their help and their shield”, and in chapter one hundred fifteen and verse ten of Psalms the Psalmist said, “O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD” where we read,

O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

The Psalmist began with the words, “O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD:”. The Psalmist began, “O house of Aaron” or “O household, dwelling, habitation, shelter and abode belonging to Aaron whose name means light bringer and was brother of Moses, a Levite and the first high priest”, “trust” which means “have faith, confidence and security” “in the LORD” or “within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon the people of Israel who belonged to “Aaron” to put their faith and confidence within Jehovah God.

The verse continues, “he is their help and their shield.” The Psalmist added the words, “he is their help” or “he, Jehovah God, exists as their, the household of Aaron's, aid, succorer and assistant” “and their shield” which means “and their, the household of Aaron's, buckler, protector and defense”. The Psalmist said that Jehovah God exists as the aid, assistant, protector and defense of the people of “Aaron” or Israel.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist continued to exhort the people of Israel and “Aaron” to put their confidence in Jehovah God. God alone exists as their “assistant and protector”. No one else rises to that position. God chose the people of Israel to be the nation through whom all the other nations of the world would be blessed. (See Genesis 18:18, 22:18 and Galatians 3:8) He sent His Son Jesus into the world through the people of Israel to be crucified for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and be our “help and shield” for this life and all eternity.

Israel, Trust in the LORD - Psalms 115:9

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “But our God is in the heavens: he has done whatsoever he has pleased. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not. They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not. They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusts in them”, and in chapter one hundred fifteen and verse nine of Psalms the Psalmist said, “O Israel, trust in the LORD” where we read,

O Israel, trust you in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

The Psalmist began with the words, “O Israel, trust you in the LORD:” The Psalmist began, “O Israel” or “O Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”, “trust you” which means “you, Israel, have confidence, security, boldness and refuge” “in the LORD” or “within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon the people and nation of “Israel” to put their confidence and faith in Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say, “he is their help and their shield.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “he is their help” or “he, Jehovah God, exists as their, the people of Israel's, assistant, succorer and aid” “and their shield” which means “and their, the people of Israel's, buckler, protector and defense”. The Psalmist declared Jehovah God to be the people of Israel's assistant and protector.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he called upon the people of Israel to put their faith and confidence within Jehovah God. In opposition to the useless inanimate idols that people worship, Jehovah God exists as the assistant and defense of the people of Israel and everyone who puts their faith and trust in His Son Jesus who died one the cross for our sins. When we humble ourselves before Jesus, repent of our sins and receive Him as our “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and be our “help and protector” both in this life and all through eternity.

Like Their Idols - Psalms 115:8

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “But our God is in the heavens: he has done whatsoever he has pleased. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not. They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusts in them.

The Psalmist began with the words, “They that make them are like unto them;” The Psalmist began, “they that make them” or “they, the people both male and female, who fashion, form and produce the idols and images fashioned of silver and gold” “are like unto them” which means “exist as similar and in likeness to them, the idols and images fashioned of silver and gold”. The Psalmist said the people who formed and fashioned the idols and images fashioned of silver and gold exist similar to them.

The verse continues, “so is every one that trusts in them.” The Psalmist added the words, “so is every one” or “also and indeed exists each, the whole, all and everyone of the people” “that trusts in them” which means “who has faith, confidence and belief within them, the idols and images fashioned of silver and gold”. The Psalmist said each and every person who puts their faith and confidence within the idols and images fashioned of silver and gold exist similar to the very images that they made.

When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he associated everyone who fashioned and formed the idols and images of silver and gold with them. They were as inanimate and dysfunctional as their idols. Worshiping anything other than Jehovah God and His Son Jesus is useless and a waste of time, and the person who worships idols become like them. God knew people had a desire to worship. He built them this way, and they were made to give Him and Him alone pleasure. (See Revelation 4:11) He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive ours sins, grant us everlasting life and provide the opportunity to align with His purpose and plan of worship for all people.
