Allow Jesus' Baptism Matthew 3:15

Matthew shared how John the Baptist was baptizing people in the Jordan river and telling them about the one who was coming. He then wrote, “Then came Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbade him, saying, I have need to be baptized of you, and do you come to me?, and in chapter three and verse fifteen of his book, Matthew shares how Jesus told John the Baptist to allow “it to be” where we read:

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now:

for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

The verse reads, And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: Matthew began with the words, “and Jesus” which means “and Jesus whose name means Jehovah is Salvation and is the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate” “answering” or “”responding and concluding to the question” “said unto him” which means “proposed and uttered, proclaimed and declared to John the Baptist”, “suffer it” or “let it go, give it up, allow and remit it” “to be so now” or “just now and at this moment”. Matthew shared how Jesus told John the Baptist to “allow” Him to be “baptized”.

The verse continues, “... for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Matthew continued with the words, “for thus” which means “because, since, on account that and consequently” “it becomes us” or “it is conspicuous, imminent, seemly and fitting ” “to fulfill” which means “to fill up, complete and consummate” “all righteousness” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of the conditions acceptable to God and in the state of him who is as he ought to be”. “Then” which means “at that time” “he suffered him” or “John the Baptist” “allowed and permitted” Jesus to be “baptized”. Matthew shared how Jesus told John the Baptist it was important that they “complete and fill” “all” conditions acceptable to God” in which John the Baptist complied.

When we meditate upon Matthew's words in this verse, we see how Jesus instructed John the Baptist to allow Him to be “baptized” because it was necessary for them to “complete and fill” every aspect of God's ways. God the Father decided to have Jesus identify with mankind through “baptism” even though He never sinned nor did He need repentance. God is so passionate about “saving” people that He insured that Jesus would comply with every righteous act and deed necessary to be right, and those who are wise shall align with Jesus who knows what it is like to be as a man.

Next time Matthew shares when Jesus was “baptized” John the Baptist saw “the Spirit of God descending link a dove” so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
