John the apostle wrote how Jesus, “went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode. And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spoke of this man were true”, and in chapter ten and verse forty-one of his book John shared how, “many believed on” Jesus where we read:
And many believed on him there.
The verse reads, “And many believed …” John began with the words, “and many” which means “and a great number of people”, “believed” or “trusted in, relied upon, clung to and had confidence”. John shared how a large number of people in the area where John the Baptist had “baptized” people “trusted” in the following.
The verse goes on to say, “... on him there.” John continued with the words, “on him” which means “in Jesus” “there” or “at the place and location where John baptized”. John shared how the great number of people “trusted” in Jesus where “John the Baptist” submerged and immersed people in water.
When we think through John's words in this verse, we learn how the people who were located where John the Baptist ministered began to “believe” in Jesus. John told the people in that location about Jesus, and when they discovered Him to be all that John shared, they “believed” in Him. God the Father sent John the Baptist as the forerunner to His Messiah Son Jesus, and when a person examines the words of John the Baptist and others, they will discover Jesus is the “Christ and Savior” of the world. Let everyone who reads these words carefully examine the testimonies about Jesus provided in the scriptures and surrender their lives to Him to be forgiven of their sins and inherit everlasting life with God.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see John shares how, “a certain man was sick, named Lazarus”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
