What
marks thou there resilient flow
from
memorial founts doth cry
thy
names surrounding foundation square
where
visitor doth sigh
Thy
flowing tears like waterfalls
in
bottomless canyons spill
careening
lake that lie beneath
the
endless center fill
Oh
thou great memorial
of
tragedy complete
where
flames poured forth and lives expired
the
sign of great defeat
Thy
base of towers once did rise
above
the city plane
where
crashing down in moments time
thy
edifice inflamed
The
dust and bending steel above
with
thunderous noise did fall
casting
forth thy crass debris
that
came upon them all
Where
evil triumphed and branded minds
of
men both near and far
eternal
memories of purposed hearts
that
never more shall scar
A
symbol to the vulnerable
a
country to its knees
where
impasse shields and tender hearts
gave
lives to those in need
Thou
brazen altar etched with souls
doth
bring our minds resolve
a
requiem of circumstance
that
never shall absolve
To
thee thy great memorial
reminder
of evil's threat
to
honor those who've fallen here
to
never more forget
