Take Me Not Away - Psalms 102:24

In Psalms one hundred and two the Psalmist referred to the time, “When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD, He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days”, and in chapter one hundred two and verse twenty-four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days” where we read,

I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: your years are throughout all generations.

The verse begins, I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: The Psalmist began with the words, “I said” or “I, the Psalmist, uttered, declared and proclaimed”, “O my God” which means “O my, the Psalmist's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “take me not away” or “do not withdraw, remove or break me apart” “in the midst of my days” which means “within the middle half or youth belonging to my, the Psalmist's, evenings and mornings”. The Psalmist shared how he prayed that the Divine judge Jehovah God would not remove his life during the youth of his years.

The verse goes on to say, your years are throughout all generations. The Psalmist continued with the words, “your years” or “your, Jehovah God's, annual periods, divisions or measurements of time” “are throughout all generations” which means “exist as the entirety of each, every, the whole and everyone of the ages, periods and posterity”. The Psalmist declared Jehovah God's periods and measurements of time to endure through every age and posterity.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the way he pled for Jehovah God not to remove his life during his youth because God has an enduring and everlasting time that shall extend to every age. The idea is that God is eternal, and the Psalmist wanted to be a part of that time. God offers salvation, forgiveness of sins and eternal life through His Son Jesus whom He sent into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be with Him in Heaven forever and ever. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for their provision for us to live with them for all eternity.

Next time the Psalmist says, “Of old have you laid the foundation of the earth”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
