The Silver and the God are the LORD's Haggai 2:8

As the people of Israel rebuilt the temple of the LORD, the LORD promised them His Spirit would be with them, and He would demonstrate it by “shaking” the “heavens, the earth, the sea and the dry land” as well as “the nations”. In chapter two and verse eight of his prophesy, the LORD tells how “the silver” and “the gold” are His where we read:

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the LORD of hosts.

The verse begins, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,...” Haggai began, “The silver” or “money, metal, ornament, shekels or talents” “is mine” which means “the LORD's” “and the gold” or “a precious metal with the root meaning to shimmer such as gold color as yellow oil and a clear sky” “is mine” which means “the LORD's”. All the precious metals such as silver and gold are the LORD's.

The verse goes on to say, “...says the LORD of hosts.” Haggai continued, “says” or “utters, speaks or avows” “the LORD” or “Yehovah or Jehovah” who is “the existing one” and “the proper name for the one true God” “of hosts” or “that which goes forth to war as an army or warfare”. The authority of the possession of the precious metals of “silver” and “gold” is from “Jehovah” God who commands the “hosts” of heaven.

When we consider these words of Haggai, we see more reasons the people of Israel need not to be afraid and may rather “be strong”. “The LORD” is with them, and it is “the LORD” who owns all the precious metals such as “silver” and “gold”. Since He does, no one else has true power over it. We understand that a relationship with the Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ His Son allows us to have access to His Almighty power and ownership, and when we realize this, we have no need to fear anymore.

Next time the LORD shares how “the glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
