Blessed is the Man Who Hears Wisdom Proverbs 8:34

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not”, and in chapter eight and verse thirty-four of Proverbs Solomon said, “blessed is the man that hears me” where we read,

Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

The verse begins, “Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, ... Solomon began with the words, “blessed is the man” or “oh how happy exists the human being both male and female” that hears me which means “who listens to, takes heed and pays attention to me, wisdom”, “watching daily” or “being wakeful over, alert and on the lookout every sunrise to sunset” “at my gates” which means “in front of my, wisdom's, leafs and swinging doors”. Solomon shared how the person who takes heed and pays attention to “wisdom” and day by day looks out for it is “O how happy”.

The verse goes on to say, “... waiting at the posts of my doors.” Solomon continued with the words, “waiting at the posts” or “keeping guard, observing, having charge of and watching for the gate or door-posts” “of my doors” which means “belonging to my, wisdom's, opening or entrance”. Solomon said the person who “hears and waits” at the door-posts or entry of “wisdom's” doorways exists as O how happy.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how the person who gives ear, pays attention and watches at the entry of “wisdom” exists as O how happy. God wants us to have joy in our lives, and when we surrender to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of the whole world, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to continually “wait” for God's “wisdom” every day of our lives.

Next time Solomon says, “whoever finds me finds life”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
