In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors”, and in chapter eight and verse thirty-five of Proverbs Solomon said, “he that finds me finds life” where we read,
For whosoever finds me finds life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD.
The verse begins, “For whosoever finds me finds life, ...” Solomon began with the words, “for whosoever finds me” or “because, since and on account that whatever person male or female who discovers, attains and secures me, wisdom” “finds life” which means “discovers, attains and secures active, lively and sustaining living”. Solomon shared that whatever person discovers “wisdom” will discover active and sustained living.
The verse continues, “... and shall obtain favor of the LORD.” Solomon added the words, “and shall obtain favor” or “and will be furnished, issued and afford pleasure, delight and acceptance” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon said the person who discovers “wisdom” will gain and be furnished the pleasure and delight which belongs to Jehovah God.
When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we see how the person who attains “wisdom” will gain active and sustained living, and they will be furnished the delight of Jehovah God. God wants us to “find wisdom”, and He wants our lives to be “blessed” as we receive His delight and acceptance when we yield our lives to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we receive Jesus as the personal “Lord and Savior” of our lives, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to receive the pleasure and delight of Jehovah God as we live before His eyes.
Next time Solomon says, “he that sins against me wrongs his own soul”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
