In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Be not you envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of mischief”, and in chapter twenty-four and verse three of Proverbs Solomon said, “through wisdom is a house built” where we read,
Through wisdom is an house builded;
and by understanding it is established.
The verse begins, “Through wisdom is an house builded;” Solomon began with the words, “through wisdom” or “by the means of skill, shrewdness and prudence” “is an house builded” which means “is a dwelling place, habitation and abode continued, established, set up and repaired”. Solomon said by the means of skill and prudence a dwelling place is established.
The verse continues, “and by understanding it is established.” Solomon added the words, “and by understanding” or “and through the means of intelligence, insight and knowledge” “it is established” which means “it, the dwelling place, exists as firm, fixed, stable and secure”. Solomon said through the means of insight and knowledge a dwelling place is secured and made stable.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon by the means of skill, prudence and intelligence a house is fabricated and secured. God gives us the “wisdom” and “intelligence” to make and keep our homes in a manner that is pleasing to Him. God loves us, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we put our faith and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the skill and insight that we need to “establish” our homes on earth and in Heaven.
Next time Solomon says, “by knowledge shall the chambers be filled”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
