Chambers Filled by Knowledge - Proverbs 24:4

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established, and in chapter twenty-four and verse four of Proverbs Solomon said, “by knowledge shall the chambers be filled” where we read,

And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled

with all precious and pleasant riches.

The verse begins, “And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled ... Solomon began with the words, “and by knowledge” or “and through the means of perception, skill and wisdom” “shall the chambers” which means “will the room, parlor or innermost and inward part” “be filled” or “exist as consecrated, satisfied, accomplished and ended”.Solomon shared how the rooms within a house will be accomplished and satisfied through skill and wisdom.

The verse goes on to say, “... with all precious and pleasant riches.” Solomon continued with the words, “with all precious” or “alongside and beside each, every, the whole and everyone of the valuable, rare, splendid and costly” “and pleasant riches” which means “and delightful, sweet, lovely and beautiful wealth, substance and sufficiency”. Solomon said a house will also be filled with every type of valuable, costly, delightful and beautiful substances and wealth.

When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we discover how we can build and establish our homes with splendid, costly and valuable wares. Solomon knew “skill and wisdom” were essential to having our homes filled with delightful things, and God wants us to be blessed in this life and the life to come so He will provide that wisdom when we ask. (See James 1:5) He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His “wisdom” to fill our homes with “all precious and pleasant riches”.

Next time Solomon says, “a wise man is strong”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
