To all of you
have been hurt
by churches
everywhere
please
receive apology
from one who
really cares
For wounded
souls by patrons there
who've sliced
with their remarks
the spears
and javelins sent toward thee
to cut within
thy heart
The knives of
words and ignored ways
by pastors
far and wide
the hatchets
brandished without care
to cut thee
deep inside
Repugnant
ways of ridicule
hath made of
thee their fun
and caused
thee to resist their church
and pushed
thy soul to run
Thy wounded
spirit now resists
their invites
that be true
forsaking
their assembly
for fear of
harming you
Their marks
have cut you deep inside
and no more
their demise
shall you
attend because of them
who represent
a lie
Their
dripping venom and marked bites
have tortured
mind and heart
and bent thy
thoughts away from church
and made thee
simply part
The apathy
and lethargy
of those who
be in charge
have scared
thee of pretentious friends
in churches
small and large
To those of
you who have been hurt
there's one
who really cares
Jesus stands
with balm in hand
to heal you
everywhere
Your value is
so far above
the words
that others shared
God's mercy
reaches out beyond
their damage
without a care
Though
disappointed be thus now
you hurting
ones so loved
apology so
well deserved
that comes
from God above
Imperfect
ones He came to save
and they
within the church
too often
have become the ones
the
instruments of hurt
Remember this
O' precious one
Jesus was
victim too
by others
with religious vain
