In the book of Proverbs Solomon asked, “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches”, and in chapter twenty-five and verse four of Proverbs Solomon said, “a wise man is strong” where we read,
A wise man is strong;
yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.
The verse begins, “A wise man is strong;” Solomon began with the words, “a wise man” or “a skillful, shrewd and prudent person whether male or female” “is strong” which means “exists as mighty, bold and powerful”. Solomon shared how a person who is skilled and prudent exists as mighty and powerful.
The verse continues, “yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.” Solomon added the words, “yes, a man of knowledge” or “even so and indeed, a person whether male or female who possesses perception, skill, understanding and wisdom” “increases strength” which means “determines, confirms and fortifies power, might and ability”. Solomon certifiably stated that a person who possesses perception and understand fortifies power and might.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how a person with skill and prudence exists as powerful and mighty, and when they have understanding and wisdom, they fortify their power and ability. God wants us to be “wise, strong, with knowledge and growing in “strength”, and He provides all these traits and abilities according to His Divine purposes and plans. He gave His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, so when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us wisdom to be “strong” and “knowledge” to “increase strength”.
Next time Solomon says, “by wise counsel you shall make your war”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
