The LORD Sent a Prophet - Judges 6:8

In the book of Judges we learned how, “it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites” the following happened, and in chapter six and verse eight of Judges, we learn that, “the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel”, where we read,

That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

The verse reads, “That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, …” The writer began with the words, “that the LORD” which means “that Jehovah who is the existing One and is the proper name for the One True God” “sent a prophet” or “dispatched and assigned a spokesman, speaker and inspirational man” “unto the children of Israel” which means “to the offspring and progeny belonging to Israel whose name means ‘God prevails’ and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”, “which said unto them” or “who uttered, declared and proclaimed to them, the offspring of Israel” the following words. The writer shared how Jehovah God dispatched an inspirational man to the offspring belonging to “Israel”. 

The verse goes on to say, “… Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;” The writer continued with the words, “thus says the LORD God of Israel” which means “the following utters, proclaims and declares Jehovah who is the existing One and is the proper name for the One True God, the Supreme Deity, belonging to Israel whose name means ‘God prevails’”, “I brought you up from Egypt” or “I, Jehovah God, sprung, withdrew and took you, the offspring of Israel, separate and apart from Egypt whose name means ‘land of the Copts’ and is a country at the northeastern section of Africa, adjacent to Palestine, and through which the Nile flows”, “and brought you forth” which means “and carried and led you, Israel, forward” “out of the house of bondage” or “from the dwelling place, habitation and abode pertaining to slaves, servants and bondmen”. The writer shared how Jehovah God the Supreme Deity belonging to Israel reminded them that He took them out of “Egypt” and led them out of that dwelling place for slaves. 

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God responded to the “cries” of the offspring of “Israel” by sending them an inspirational man and reminding them of how He already delivered them from the bondage they experienced in “Egypt”. God knows when we have needs, and when we yield to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of everyone and was resurrected from the dead after three days, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and grant us His Holy Spirit who will guide us into all truth and teach us the importance of calling out to Him whenever we have needs.
