There one stood before the throne
the judge was sat in place
you've been arrested for your crimes
your penalties must face
With unrelenting eyes the judge
condemned the one below
for he was brought in rapid haste
for debts thought he did owe
Though the trial be yet unfold
this one we know is wrong
for his bad reputation
caused hatred for so long
Without regard to witness there
or facts dug deep discerned
the charge of guilty set on him
tis prison he has earned
And better yet this one of hate
despised by mortal men
t'would be that even he should die
and thus be rid of him
And thus the crowd of ill thought folk
condemned this man untried
with gleeful laughs and fearless jests
did cast this man aside
But then upon a closer look
twas I before the throne
the one condemned was me brought there
the debt was mine alone
My head was bowed my guilt assured
that I too was without
my shameful thoughts and mindless deeds
that I had carried out
And judgment sure that I deserved
against myself should be
the beam within my eye did shield
the speck in him I'd seen
Forsaken mercy abstained grace
were not upon my mind
when thoughts of him who was not me
condemned one not aligned
But then a closer view I took
who sat upon the throne
twas me the judge against myself
denounced by me alone
Then did I with reason see
by judging him shamed me
for none doth have a righteous path
the perfect way to be
With head bowed low and humbled heart
did I remove the beam
before I brought the guilt on him
most hated less than me
