Succored in the Day of Salvation 2 Corinthians 6:2

Paul the apostle told the Corinthian church members how God speaking of Jesus, as workers together with” God, and he “called for and summonedthe church members that they “receive not the grace of God in vain.” In chapter six and verse two of Second Corinthians, Paul told the church members , “in the day of salvation have I succored you where we read:

(For he said, I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored you: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

The verse begins, “(For he said, I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored you:” Paul began with the words, “for he said” which means “even as God has uttered, declared and proclaimed”, “I have heard you” or “God has given ear to, listened, perceived and heard with favor” “in a time accepted” which means “a due measure, opportune and seasonal time of well-acceptance”, “and in the day” or “the time in general” “of salvation” or “of deliverance, preservation and safety” “have I succored you” which means “brought aid and help to those to whom he spoke”. Paul draws from Isaiah chapter forty-nine and verse eight to declare the Lord's promised and “well-acceptable” time and day of salvation.

The verse continues, “behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Paul added the word, “behold” which means “look and see”, “now is the accepted time” or “the well-accepted opportune and due measure is in this present moment”; “behold” which means “look and see” “now is the day” or “at the present moment is the time in general” “of salvation” which refers to “deliverance, preservation and safety ”. Paul shared how God declared the present moment to be the “time and day of well-acceptance”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how God Himself appointed and extended this “time and day of salvation and grace” to mankind. Thorough the prophet Isaiah, God foretold this period, and Paul saw the fulfillment of it. “Thus says the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve thee, and give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;” (Isaiah 49:8) Today is God's “well-acceptable” time of Salvation through His Son Jesus, and those who are wise shall seize the opportunity while it remains available.

Next time we see Paul tell the church members, “Giving no offense in any thing” so the “ministry is not blamed”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
