John
the apostle was in heaven before the throne of God and saw
“four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the
throne, and worship him that lives for ever and ever, and cast their
crowns before the throne”,
and they were
“saying” what
is written
in
chapter four and verse eleven of Revelation, “and
for your pleasure they are and were created”
where
we read:
You
are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power:
for
you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were
created.
The
verse reads, “You
are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power:”
John
began with the words, “you
are worthy”
which means “God has weight, value, is befitting, congruous and
deserving”, “O
Lord” which
refers to “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has
power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah”,
“to
receive” which
means “to take, claim, procure, lay hold of and apprehend”
“glory”
or
“splendor, brightness, magnificence, excellence, preeminence,
dignity and grace” “and
honor”
which means “value, deference and reverence” “and
power”
or “strength, ability and force”. John shared how the
“twenty-four
elders”
attributed “worth,
glory, honor and power”
to God Almighty.
The
verse goes on to say, “.. for
you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were
created.” John
continued with the words, “for
you have created”
which means “because and since God has formed, shaped and
fabricated” “all
things”
which means “each, every, the whole and everything”, “and
for your pleasure”
or “and by reason and account of God's purpose, will, choice,
inclination and desire” “they
are”
which means “everything exists” “and
were created”
or “and were formed, shaped and fabricated”. John shared how the
“twenty-four
elders”
continued their worship toward God as they attributed “creation”
of everything to Him, and the purpose of “creation” was for God's
own “purpose, inclination and desire”.
When
we think through John's words in this verse, we note this awesome
scene in heaven where the “twenty-four elders” gave
worship and praise unto God. They declared Him “worthy” of
“glory, honor and power” as well as the “Creator”
of everything for His own “purposes and desire”. All things
were made by God and for God including human beings, and they were
“created” for His “pleasure” and “desire”. God's
design was to have mankind in a relationship with Him, and that is
possible through His Son Jesus Christ who took away the sins of the
world that separated man from Him. God is indeed “worthy” of all
“praise, honor, glory and power”, and He wants to enjoy His
greatest “creation” - people.
Next
time
we begin a new chapter and see how John, “saw
in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within
and on the backside”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

tomorrow…there is more…
