The Righteous Shining Forth as the Sun - Matthew 13:43

Matthew the apostle wrote how Jesus, “sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”, and in chapter thirteen and verse forty-three of his book, Matthew wrote how Jesus tells His disciples another parable about how Jesus said, “then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun” where we read:

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Who has ears to hear, let him hear.

The verse reads, Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Matthew began with the word, “then” which means “at that time and moment” “shall the righteous” or “will the people who observe divine laws, are upright, virtuous and keep the commands of God” “shine forth” which means “be resplendent” “as the sun” or “like and similar to the sun in the sky” “in the kingdom” which means “within the royal power, kingship, dominion and rule” “of their Father” which refers to “the righteous one's God who is the Father of Jesus Christ and One who has united to himself in the closest bond of love and intimacy, made acquainted with his purposes, appointed to explain and carry out among men the plan of salvation and made to share also in his own divine nature”. Matthew shared how Jesus said “righteous” people would be “resplendent” within God's Kingdom once the “tares” or “wickedness” is removed from the world.

The verse continues, Who has ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew added the word, “who” which means “whatever person whether male or female” “has ears to hear” or “that has been given the faculty or hearing, perceiving, understanding, noticing and discovering”, “let” which means “allow and permit” “him hear” or “that person to perceive, understand, notice and discover” the wonderful trues of God. Matthew shared how Jesus gave an invitation to every person who “will hear” His message to do so.

When we meditate upon Matthew's words in this verse, we see how “the righteous” will be “resplendent” and “brightly shone” once “evil” is removed from the world. Jesus desires for every person to “hear” these things and be obedient to His invitation to receive His plan of “salvation”. God wants to give His “righteousness” to everyone, and when they yield their lives to His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, they are promised to be among the “righteous” who will “shine forth” in the world when “evil and wickedness” are fully gone.

Next time Matthew shares how Jesus told His disciples how, “the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
