In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “a foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping”, and in chapter nineteen and verse fourteen of Proverbs Solomon said, “house and riches are the inheritance of fathers:” where we read,
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
The verse begins, “House and riches are the inheritance of fathers:” Solomon began with the words, “house and riches” or “dwelling places, abodes and shelters as well as wealth and substance” “are the inheritance” which means “exist as the possession, property, portion and share” “of fathers” or “belonging to immediate male progenitors and ancestors”. Solomon shared how dwelling places and wealth become the portion and share of male progenitors and ancestors.
The verse goes on to say “and a prudent wife is from the LORD.” Solomon continued with the words, “and a prudent wife” or “and a female spouse who is skillful, shrewd and prudent” “is from the LORD” which means “exists from Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon said a skillful and shrewd female spouse is from Jehovah God.
When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we discover that dwelling places, wealth and a skillful female spouse are a blessing from Jehovah God. God gave us life, breath and sustenance of life including the places where we live and the substance we receive. He provides spouses to many people, and to those who regard Him as the Savior, He provided His Son Jesus who was crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us wealth, homes and spouses according to His Divine purpose and will.
Next time Solomon says, “slothfulness casts into a deep sleep”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
