A Fool Walks By the Way - Ecclesiastes 10:3

In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon said, “A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left”, and in chapter ten and verse three of his book Solomon shared about, “when he that is a fool walks by the way” where we read,

Yes also, when he that is a fool walks by the way,

his wisdom fails him, and he says to every one that he is a fool.

The verse reads, “Yes also, when he that is a fool walks by the way, …” Solomon began with the words, “yes also” or “even so and indeed”, “when he that is a fool” which means “at the time and moment he, the person whether male or female, who exists as a dullard, simpleton and stupid fellow” “walks by the way” or “departs, proceeds and moves along the road, distance, journey and manner of living” the following occurs. Solomon referred to the time and moment that a person who is a dullard and simpleton journeys and makes their manner of living with the following happening.

The verse goes on to say, “… his wisdom fails him, and he says to every one that he is a fool.” Solomon continued with the words, “his wisdom fails him” or “his, the foolish person’s, skill, shrewdness and prudence is lacking, needy and in want within him, the dullard and simpleton”, “and he says to every one” which means “and he, the foolish person, utters, declares and proclaims to each, all and the whole of people” “that he is a fool” or “that he, the foolish person, exists as a dullard, simpleton and stupid fellow”. Solomon said the “foolish” person’s skill and prudence is lacking within them,, and they make a declaration to all other people that they exist as a “dullard and stupid fellow”.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon when foolish people make their manner of living in a stupid manner, their skill, shrewdness and prudence is lacking and they show everyone that they are a simpleton. God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind and was resurrected from the dead after three days. When we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and equip us with the “wisdom” of the Holy Spirit so we will manage our lives according to His ways and not in the ways of the “foolish”

Next time Solomon shares what to do, “if the spirit of the ruler rise up against you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
