Another Voice Praising God Revelation 19:5

An “angel” from heaven showed John the apostle many things which will occur in the tribulation time on the earth, and John wrote about commercial Babylon's destruction and the people who were affected by it. John wrote, “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever .And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.”, and in Revelation chapter nineteen and verse five John hears another, “voice...saying, Praise our God” where we read:

And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God,
all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great.

The verse reads, And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, ...” John began with the words, “and a voice” which means “and a sound or tone of uttered words” “came out of” or “went forth from” “the throne” which means “the chair of state having a footstool which was assigned to kings and therefore showing kingly power or royalty”, “saying” or “uttering, proclaiming and declaring” “Praise” which means “honor and extol” “our God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. John heard another “voice” from the area of God's “throne” proclaiming and giving “praise” to God.

The verse continues, “... all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great. John added the words, “all you” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of those who are” “his servants” or “God's bondsmen, slaves, men of servile condition and devoted attendants”, “and you that fear him” which means “and the people who reverence, venerate and treat with deference or reverential obedience”, “both small” or “even, also and indeed those who are least and little in size and quantity” “and great” which means “and those who are esteemed highly, of great importance and excellent”. John heard the “voice” exhort “each and everyone” of God's “bond servants” whether they were “of great importance” or “least” among people to “reverence” Him.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we can imagine how marvelous this scene was for John. The exhortation of “the voice” was for all of God's “servants” whether they were of “great importance” or “less esteemed” were to “honor and reverence” Him. This is God's desire for every person. He wants everyone to give Him honor and praise which is made available through a relationship with His Son Jesus. Let all who read these words join in the exhortation from God's throne to “Praise our God”!

Next time John heard, “the voice of a great multitude, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
