An
“angel”
from heaven showed John the apostle many things which will occur in
the tribulation time on the earth, and John wrote about commercial
Babylon's destruction and the people who were affected by it. John
continued to write,
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in
heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power,
unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are
his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt
the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his
servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke
rose up for ever and ever .And the four and twenty elders and the
four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne,
saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying,
Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both
small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great
multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of
mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent
reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the
marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen,
clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints”,
and in Revelation chapter nineteen and verse nine John is told to
“write,
blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the
Lamb”
where
we read:
And
he says unto me, Write, Blessed are
they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he
said unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
The
verse reads, “And
he says unto me, Write, Blessed are
they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.”
John began with the words, “and
he says”
which means “the voice from heaven uttered, declared and
proclaimed” “unto
me”
or “to John”, “write”
which means “delineate or form letters on a tablet, parchment,
paper or other material”, “blessed”
or “oh how happy, supremely blessed, fortunate and well off” “are
they which are called”
which means “are the people who saluted and bid forth” “unto
the marriage supper”
which refers to “to the wedding or marriage festival and banquet
meal and feast” “of
the Lamb”
or “belonging to the little lamb which is Jesus Christ”. John was
instructed to share how “fortunate and supremely blessed” are the
people who are “bid” to “Jesus' wedding feast”.
The
verse continues, “And
he said unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”
John added the words, “and
he said”
which means “and the voice in heaven uttered, declared and
proclaimed” “unto
me” or
“to John”, “these”
which means “that which John has seen and heard” “are
the true sayings” or
“the real, genuine and opposite to what is fictitious, counterfeit,
imaginary, simulated or pretended uttering, declarations and
proclamations” “of
God”
which means “pertaining to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is
comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”.
The voice from heaven “verified” and “validated” what John
heard were God's “genuine and real” declarations.
When
we consider John's words in this verse, we see how there is great
benefit and blessing when a person is invited to be a part of the
“marriage supper of the Lamb”. People who have received Jesus
Christ as their personal “Savior and Lord” have an open
invitation as “the bride of Christ” to come to the “wedding”
and share among the “festival and feast” which shall be there. As
though these things sound too good to be true, the voice from heaven
“validated” God's words. Everyone is invited to God's wedding
celebration, but only those who receive His Son Jesus will have
RSVP'd and said “yes”, I''ll come.
Next
time
John, “fell
at his feet to worship” the
angel,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
