An
“angel”
from heaven showed John the apostle many things which will occur in
the tribulation time on the earth, and John wrote about commercial
Babylon's destruction and the people who were affected by it. John
wrote about great worship which occurred in heaven afterward and then
shared,
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat
upon him was
called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make
war. His eyes were
as a flame of fire, and on his head were
many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he
himself. And he was
clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The
Word of God. And the armies which
were
in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen,
white and clean. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with
it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of
iron: and he treads the wine-press of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God” and
how Jesus had on his “vesture”
and “thigh”,
“KING
OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”. John
continued,
“And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud
voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come
and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God”,
and in Revelation chapter nineteen and verse eighteen John sees the
“flying
fowls of heaven”
eating, “the
flesh of kings, captains...and mighty men”
where
we read:
That
you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the
flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on
them, and the flesh of all men,
both
free and bond, both small and great.
The
verse reads, “That
you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the
flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on
them, ...”
John began with the words, “that
you may eat”
which means “so the birds might consume and devour” “the
flesh”
or “the physical bodies” “of
kings”
which refers to “leaders, princes, commanders and lords of the
land”, “and
the flesh”
which means “the physical bodies” “of
captains”
or “pertaining to military commanders of a thousand soldiers”,
“and
the flesh”
which means “the physical bodies” “of
mighty men”
or “pertaining to strong, violent, forcibly uttered, firm and sure
people”, “and
the flesh”
which means “ the physical bodies” “of
horses”
or “pertaining to horses”, “and
of them”
which means “and the people” “that
sit on them”
which refers to “who are seated upon, fixed and occupied upon the
horses”. The “angel”
called the “fowls”
together
so they would “feast upon” the “bodies” of “leaders,
commanders, strong men, horses and the people who occupy the horses”.
The
verse continues, “... and
the flesh of all men,
both
free and bond, both small and great.”
John continued with the words, “and
the flesh”
or “the physical bodies” “of
all men”
which refers to “pertaining to each, every, the whole and everyone
of the people both male and female”,
“both free”
or “freeborn, ones who are not slaves, manumitted, exempt,
unrestrained and not bound by an obligation” “and
bond”
which means “slaves, bondmen and people of servile condition”,
“both
small”
or “little of rank and influence”
“and great”
which means “of numerous, grand and abundant rank and influence”.
The “fowls”
were also to dine upon the “bodies” of “all people” whether
they were in servile work or not and whether they were of great or
little rank and influence.
When
we consider John's words in this verse, we see how all people were
“equal” for this great “meal” for the “birds”. They all
have physical bodies, and they all are opposed to Jesus Christ who is
“KING
OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”.
This will be a “feast upon flesh” like no other in history as
Jesus returns to the earth in “power and great glory”. He shall
defeat His foes, and the “birds of the air” shall feast upon
their bodies. As graphic as this will be, God Almighty has given
those who read these words advance notice of what shall surely come
to pass, and those who are wise shall secure a relationship with Him
through His Son Jesus well before this “flesh eating” event
occurs.
Next
time
John sees, “the
beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered
together”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

tomorrow…there is more…
