KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS Revelation 19:16

An “angel” from heaven showed John the apostle many things which will occur in the tribulation time on the earth, and John wrote about commercial Babylon's destruction and the people who were affected by it. John wrote about great worship which occurred in heaven afterward and then shared, “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the wine-press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God”, and in Revelation chapter nineteen and verse sixteen John saw Jesus called, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” where we read:

And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written,
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The verse reads, And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, John began with the words, “and he has on his vesture” which means “and the One on the white horse or Jesus has upon His garment, cloak, mantle or tunic” “and on his thigh” or “upon the One upon the white horse's upper leg “a name” which means “nomenclature which is s used for everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing and remembering” “written” which means “delineated upon His upper leg”. John saw both Jesus' “cloak and upper thigh” with a “name written” upon them.

The verse continues, “... KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” John added the words, “KING” which means “leader of the people, commander and lord of the land” “OF KINGS” or “above all other leaders of the people, commanders and lords of the land”, “AND LORD” which means “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title of God the Messiah” “OF LORDS” or “above all other ones to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding and masters”. John saw how the One upon the “white horse” or Jesus wore the title of “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” upon His “cloak” and upper leg.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we see how there is no authority greater than Jesus Christ. He rules and reigns over all the other rulers, commanders and leaders of the world, and at this time, after the tribulation upon the earth, He shall take His rightful place as “Ruler” over all the world. God Almighty desires for every person to be in a relationship with Him through this great “Ruler” Jesus, and by accepting Jesus as a personal “Savior and Lord” submission to the “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” is received willingly rather than being forced to do so.

Next time John sees, “an angel standing in the sun”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
