Neither Male or Female without the Other 1 Corinthians 11:11

Paul the apostle continued to share concerning God's order for “the man” and “the woman” in the church as he declared “creation” of “man first” to be the reason that a woman in his day should be “veiled” when she “prayed and prophesied. In chapter eleven and verse eleven of First Corinthians, Paul shared with the Corinthian church members how “in the Lord”, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man”, where we read:

Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

The verse begins, Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman,...”. Paul began with the word, “Nevertheless” which means “moreover and besides” “neither” or “not even” “is the man” or “the male human being” “without” or “separate and apart from” “the woman” which refers to “the female human being”. Paul declared the “male human being” not to be “separate and apart from” the “female human being”.

The verse continues, ...neither the woman without the man, in the Lord ” Paul added the word, “neither” which means “not even” “the woman” or “the female human being” “without the man” which means “separate and apart from the male human being”, “in the Lord” or “with he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah”. Paul shared how when “men and women” are “in the Lord”, the “woman” is not “separated from” the “male human being” as well.

When we think through these words from Paul, we see how he shows the value of both the “male and female human beings”. When people are “in the Lord”, which means they have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ His Son, they are valuable to one another. Though there are roles of “authority” and “order” God has placed within His church, the people who fulfill those roles are extremely precious to Him. As we consider the value of both “men and women” “in the Lord”, we should be inspired to value and love toward one another as he values and loves us.

Next time Paul shares with the church members how, “the woman is of the man” and “the woman is of the man” and how “all things of God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
