Jesus Touches the Blind Men's Eyes Matthew 9:29

Matthew the apostle shared when Jesus raised the little girl back to life again, the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. And when Jesus departed there, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, You Son of David, have mercy on us.And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus said unto them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yes, Lord.” In chapter nine and verse twenty-nine of his book, Matthew shared how Jesus, “touched he their eyes” where we read:

Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

The verse reads, Then touched he their eyes, saying, ...” Matthew began with the word, “then” or “at that time and moment” “touched he” which means “Jesus applied His touch to” “their eyes” or “the blind men's eyes”, “saying” which means “uttering, declaring and proclaiming”. Matthew shared how Jesus “touched” the blind men's eyes and spoke the following phrase to them.

The verse goes on to say, “... According to your faith be it unto you.” Matthew continued with the words, “according to” or “down from, throughout and toward” “your faith” which means “the blind men's confidence, trust and belief” “be it” which means “let it exist, become and happen” “unto you” which refers to “the blind men”. Matthew shared how Jesus confirmed that it was the “confidence, belief and trust” of the “blind men” that availed Jesus to do as He desired.

When we meditate upon Matthew's words in this verse, we see how Jesus ascribed the “two blind men's” “faith” as the answer to their prayer to Him. God wants people to “believe and trust” in Him and His Son Jesus, and Jesus is the answer to any “blindness” that comes into our lives. As Jesus “touched” these blind men, He is willing to “touch” all who allow Him today. Let all who read these words receive God's “touch” “according to” their “faith”.

Next time Matthew shares how Jesus, “their eyes were opened”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
