God Shall Bruise Satan Under Your Feet Romans 16:20

As Paul the apostle continued complete his final words to the believers in Rome, he told them, “your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil”, and in chapter sixteen and verse twenty of Romans, Paul told the believers, “the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly” where we read:
And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

The verse begins, And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. . Paul began with the words, “and the God” which means “and the Godhead and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “of peace” which means “pertaining to tranquility, exemption from the rage and havoc of war, harmony and concord” “shall bruise” or “will break into pieces, shiver, tread down, break, crush and shatter” “Satan” which refers to “the inveterate adversary of God, prince of evil spirits and accuser” “under your feet” which refers to “beneath the believers in Rome's feet” “shortly” or “quickly, in haste and with speed”. Paul declared that “Satan” would soon be put “beneath the feet” of the believers in Rome.

The verse goes on to say, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Paul continued with the words, “the grace” which means “that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness and unmerited favor” of our Lord or “pertaining to the one to whom a person or thing belongs about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah” “Jesus” whose name means “Jehovah is Salvation” and is “”the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate “Christ” which refers to “the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God”, “be with you” which means “be after and alongside the believers in Rome” “Amen” which means “so let it be and let it be so”. Paul desired that “God's unmerited favor” would be with the believers in Rome.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how it was important for him to encourage the believers by sharing how “Satan” would be put beneath their “feet” or subordinate to them quickly. People who have received Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” have caused “Satan” to bring them great trouble, and when Paul encouraged them with “Satan's” soon submission, he gave them hope that “Satan's influence” would be done away. Paul added the theme for this letter to Rome as he desired for God's “grace” or “unmerited favor” would be “with” them.

Next time Paul shares a greeting to the believers in Rome from, “Timothy my work-fellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
