Paul
the apostle told the believers in Rome, “One
man esteems one day above another: another esteems every day alike.
Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind”,
and in chapter
fourteen and verse six of Romans,
Paul referred to, those who “regard
the day” and
“do not”
and those who “eat”
and “do
not”
where
we read:
He
that regards the day, regards it
unto the Lord; and he that regards not the day, to the Lord he does
not regard it.
He that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that
eats not, to the Lord he eats not, and gives God thanks.
The
verse begins, “He
that regards the day, regards it
unto the Lord; and he that regards not the day, to the Lord he does
not regard it.”
Paul
began with the words, “he
that regards”
which means “the human whether male or female who has
understanding, is wise, feels, thinks and judges according to opinion
toward” “the
day”
or “the
natural day or the interval between sunrise and sunset as
distinguished from and contrasted with the night”,
“regards
it”
which means
“has
understanding, is wise, feels, thinks and judges according to opinion
toward the
natural day or the interval between sunrise and sunset as
distinguished from and contrasted with the night”
“unto
the Lord”
or “toward he
to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of
deciding; master
and the title given to God the Messiah”; “and
he that regards not”
which refers to “does not have understanding, is wise, feels,
thinks and judges according to opinion” “the
day”
or “the
natural day or the interval between sunrise and sunset as
distinguished from and contrasted with the night”,
“to
the Lord”
which means “toward he
to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of
deciding; master
and the title given to God the Messiah” “he
does not regard it”
or “that person does not have understanding, is wise, feels, thinks
and judges according to opinion”. Paul addressed people who
“regard”
and do not “regard”
a particular “day”
because each of them practice their convictions before “the
Lord”.
The
verse continues, “
He that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that
eats not, to the Lord he eats not, and gives God thanks.”
Paul
added the words, “he
that eats” which
means “the person whether male or female who”,
“eats”
or “consumes and devours all things” “to
the Lord”
which refers to “he has power of deciding; master and the title
given to God the Messiah”, “for
he gives”
or “grants, blesses and appoints” “God”
which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised
of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “thanks”
or “gratitude”; “and
he that eats”
which means “the person whether male or female who does not consume
and devour”, “to
the Lord”
or “toward he who has power of deciding; master and the title
given to God the Messiah” “he
eats not”
which means “that person does not consume and devour”, “and
gives”
or “grants, blesses and appoints” “God”
which
refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God
the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”
“thanks”
or “gratitude”.
Paul also addressed those who “eat all things” and those who only
“eat vegetables” because each of them practice their convictions
before “the
Lord”
as well..
When
we consider these words of Paul, we see how he puts for the idea of
each of these groups of people as being valuable before “the
Lord”. Some believers desire to have one certain “day”
special and others allow for every “day” to be the same, yet each
of them do so before “the Lord”. The same idea transfers
to those who “eat” or “do not eat” certain foods because they
do so before “the Lord” as well. Jesus Christ came to
“save people from their sins”, and when certain believers have
personal convictions that other believers do not have, as long as
they do them before “the Lord”, each of them are esteemed
valuable before God. May the Lord Jesus through His Holy Spirit bring
this truth to all who read these words.
Next
time
Paul tells the believers in Rome, “none
of us live or die to” ourselves,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
