Paul
the apostle asked the believers in Rome, “Do
you have faith?”,
and he answered, “have
it
to yourself before God. Happy is
he that condemns not himself in that thing which he allows.”
In chapter
fourteen and verse twenty-three of Romans,
Paul tells the believers, “whatsoever
is not of faith is sin” where
we read:
And
he that doubts is damned if he eat, because he
eats
not of faith:
The
verse begins, “And
he that doubts is damned if he eat, because he
eats
not of faith:”
Paul
began with the words, “and
he”
which means “and the person whether male or female” “that
doubts”
or “who separates, makes a distinction, discriminates, prefers,
doesn't believe and decides” “is
damned”
which means
“is
judged worthy of punishment or condemned” “if
he eat”
or “whether that human being whether male or female consumes or
devours”, “because”
which means “since” “he
eats” or
“the human being whether male or female consumes and devours”
“not
of faith”
which refers to “not pertaining to belief and assurance”. Paul
shared how the person who “does not believe” and “eats”
without freedom to do so is “judged worthy of condemnation”.
The
verse goes on to say, “for
whatsoever is
not of faith is sin.”
Paul
added the word, “for”
which means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and
therefore” “whatsoever”
or “whatever thing that” “is
not of faith” which
means “does not pertain to belief and assurance” “is
sin”
or “misses the mark, errs and is mistaken”. Paul declared
anything without “belief and assurance” is “missing the mark
and error”.
When
we think through these words of Paul, we see how believers who do not
have “faith” when they “eat and drink” condemn
themselves because they do so without “belief and assurance”.
Jesus Christ came to “save” people from their “sins”, and
although they may have personal convictions, He came for everyone.
Some people compromise their “convictions” concerning “eating
and drinking” certain foods and drinks, and they do not have
the “faith” to do so. This causes them to “sin
and be in error”. God desires for His people to “love”
one another, and when they have “faith” to “eat or
drink”, they should. If they do not have “faith” to
“eat or drink”, don't.
Next
time
we begin a new chapter and see Paul tell the believers in Rome how
the,
“strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

tomorrow…there is more…
