Joy, Peace and Hope through Holy Spirit Power Romans 15:13

Paul the apostle instructed the believers in Rome, “Isaiah says, There shall be a root of Jesse,
and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust”, and in chapter fifteen and verse thirteen of Romans, Paul shared another scripture where it says, “the God of hope fill you with joy, peace and hope through the power of the Holy Ghost” where we read:

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

The verse begins, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, ...” Paul began with the word, “now” which means “at this present time and moment” “the God” or “the Godhead and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “of hope” which means “expectation of good” “fill you” which means “make the believers in Rome to abound, be furnished and supplied liberally” “with all joy” which refers to “with each, every, the whole and everyone of the causes of cheerfulness, calm delight and gladness” “and peace” or “and tranquility, security, safety, prosperity and felicity” “in believing” which means “in thinking to be true, confident within, trust and fidelity”. Paul prayed that God would make his believing readers “all the joy and peace” they should receive in having “trust and fidelity” in God.

The verse continues, “... that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.. Paul added the words, “that you may abound” which means “so the believers in Rome would exceed a fixed number of measure, be above a certain number and overflow” “in hope” or “within expectation of good”, “through the power” which means “by the strength and ability” “of the Holy Ghost” which refers to “pertaining to the third person of the triune God who is coequal and coeternal with the Father and the Son”. Paul also desired for the believers to “overflow” with “expectation of good” by way of God's “Holy Spirit”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how “joy, peace and hope” are available through “the God of all hope”. God is the source for these wonderful spiritual attributes, and those who receive His Son Jesus may know “joy, peace and hope” in the “fullness” God desires. God's Holy Spirit comes alongside people who do not know Jesus as “Savior and Lord”, and He is equipped to provide “joy, peace and hope” to all who accept His offer.

Next time Paul tells the believers in Rome they are, “full of goodness, knowledge and able to admonish one another”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
