In Jesus Shall the Gentiles Trust Romans 15:12

Paul the apostle instructed the believers in Rome, Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people. And again, Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; and laud him, all you people.” In chapter fifteen and verse twelve of Romans, Paul shared another scripture where “Isaiah” says, “in him shall the Gentile trust” where we read:

And again, Isaiah says, There shall be a root of Jesse,
and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

The verse begins, “And again, Isaiah says, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles;” Paul began with the words, “and again” which means “and anew, further and moreover”, “Isaiah” or “the famous Hebrew prophet who prophesied in the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah whose name means Jehovah's help” “says” which means “utters, declares and proclaims”, “there shall be a root” which means “there will exist an offspring or progeny” “of Jesse” which refers to “the father of David the king whose name means wealthy”, “and he that shall rise” or “and the one who will be raised up, be brought forward and caused to appear” “to reign over” which means “to be the chief and ruler” “the Gentiles” which refers to “the companies, troops and multitudes of individuals who are from nations and people groups who are not Jews”. Paul quoted the prophet “Isaiah” as the declared how Jesus would “appear to rule over” the “Gentiles”.

The verse goes on to say, “...in him shall the Gentiles trust.. Paul continued with the word, “in him” which means “within Jesus” “shall the Gentiles” which refers to “will the companies, troops and multitudes of individuals who are from nations and people groups who are not Jews” “trust” which means “hope and wait for salvation with joy and full confidence”. Paul

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how he referred to Isaiah chapter eleven and verses one and eleven to included “the Gentiles” in God's plan of salvation all along the way. God desires everyone to have a relationship with Him, and this comes through believing and trusting in Jesus Christ His Son. The Jews and Gentiles are all invited to have Jesus “rule and reign” over them, and when they receive Him, they not only become part of His family and kingdom, but are also promised “everlasting life”.

Next time Paul prays for the believers in Rome that, “the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
