Now and Already Been - Ecclesiastes 3:15

In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon said, “I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God does it, that men should fear before him”, and in chapter three and verse fifteen of his book Solomon said, “that which has been is now; and that which is to be has already been”, where we read,

That which has been is now; and that which is to be has already been;

And God requires that which is past.

The verse reads, That which has been is now; and that which is to be has already been; Solomon began with the words, “that which has been is now” or “the things that have happened, fallen out, taken place and occurred”; “and that which is to be” which means “and the things that will happen, fall out, occur and come to pass” “has already been” or “has previously existed”. Solomon said what has existed in the past is happening today, and whatever shall exist has existed in the past.

The verse continues, “And God requires that which is past.” Daniel added the words, “and God requires” or “and the Supreme Deity desires, requests and exacts” “that which is past” which means “what existed previously and over and over again”. Solomon shared how the Supreme Deity Jehovah God desires and exacts what previously existed.

When we meditate upon Solomon’s words in this verse, he said what is happening now already occurred, and what will happen, occurred in the past. He also shared how the Supreme Deity desires and exacts what has previously existed. God knows everything about us - Our past, present and future, and we can do no better than to receive His Son Jesus who came into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind and was resurrected from the dead after three days. When we receive Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put His Holy Spirit within us to guide us into all truth concerning our past, present and future in His presence.

Next time Solomon says, “I saw under the sun the place of judgment”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
