In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon said of Jehovah God, “He has made every thing beautiful in his time: also he has set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God”, and in chapter three and verse fourteen of his book Solomon said, “I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be for ever”, where we read,
I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God does it, that men should fear before him.
The verse reads, “I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it:” Solomon began with the words, “I know that” or “I, Solomon, perceive, discern, recognize and understand that”, “whatsoever God does” which means “whatever the Supreme Deity fashions, accomplishes, makes or produces”, “it shall be for ever” or “it, whatever God fashions, will exist for long duration, everlasting, perpetually and evermore”: “nothing can be put to it" which means “not one thing can increase, be added and augmented to the thing God does”, “nor any thing taken from it” or “not a single act, deed or speech can be removed from that which God does”. Solomon said whatever Jehovah God performs will remain eternally, and not one thing can be added to it or removed from it.
The verse goes on to say, “and God does it, that men should fear before him.” Daniel continued with the words, “and God does it” or “and the Supreme Deity Jehovah God fashions, accomplishes, makes or produces acts, deeds and speaks”, “that men should fear” which means “so people both male and female ought to revere, stand in awe, honor and have respect” “before him” or “in front and in the presence of him, the Supreme Deity Jehovah God”. Solomon said the Supreme Deity Jehovah God performs eternal acts and deeds so people will stand in awe and give reverence to Him.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how God performs eternal acts and deeds so when people observe them, they will be in awe of Him. No one can add to God’s works and no one can remove things from them. God knows when we make Him and His righteousness first in our lives we will live in a manner of reverence in His presence. (See Matthew 6:33) God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and because those sins separated us from a personal relationship with Him, when He raised Him from the dead after three days we now have access to Him through faith and trust in His eternal work. God loves us, and when we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and show us His everlasting works over and over again so we live in awe of Him for all eternity.
Next time Solomon says, “that which has been is now; and that which is to be has already been”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
