What Lies Beneath

Who doth know what lies beneath
in depths too far to reach
the waters of the soul be kept
be far too wide to breach

Who's inward curse be hidden thoughts
we're n'er one travel there
while observation's slighted thrust
make others unaware

The inward cell of things unknown
deceitful with it's pain
below the surface masking hurt
brought thus conflicted stain

Where anger reigns and sadness rules
thus bears the guilt and shame
and greatest fears and fondest joys
invisible domain

Whose secret love imprisoned heart
dare not to be revealed
the waters of the soul doth guard
the passion thus concealed

And clouded be thine own exploit
where mattered soul doth cry
to know the depth what lies within
the close but far be nigh

And none doth know within thyself
deceitful heart inside
that drives thy study uncharted yet
emotions deep denied
