In the book of Joshua, we learned concerning Israel how, “the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he swore unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand”, and in chapter twenty-one and verse forty-five of Joshua we learn how, “there failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel” where we read,
There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
The verse reads, “There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel;” Joshua or the writer began with the words, “there failed not ought” which means “there did not fall, cast down or cause to be an inferior word, speaking or utterance” “of any good thing” or “pertaining to each, every and the totality of everything pleasant, agreeable and valuable” “which the LORD had spoken” which means “that Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God uttered, declared and proclaimed” “unto the house of Israel” or “to the dwelling, habitation and abode belonging to Israel whose name means ‘God prevails” and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”. Joshua or the writer shared how not anything that Jehovah God declared to the dwelling place of “Israel” fell to the ground and was cast away.
The verse goes on to say, “all came to pass.” Joshua or the writer added the word, “all” which means “each, every and the whole of what was declared” “came to pass” or “happened and occurred”. Joshua or the writer shared how everything declared by Jehovah God happened just as He said.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God kept His word and fulfilled His promise to the people of Israel. God desires to have a personal relationship with everyone through His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind and was raised from the dead after three days. When we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth and empower us to live in keeping with that truth so our lives will bless Him and bear witness of His Salvation to the world. (See John 3:16; 16:13; Acts 1:8; Revelation 4:11)
