The Word of God Growing and Prevailing - Acts 19:20

Luke the beloved physician wrote when mighty works were done by Paul in Ephesus, “fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many that believed came, and confessed, and showed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver”, and in chapter nineteen and verse twenty of the book of Acts Luke shared how mightily grew the word of God and prevailedwhere we read:

So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

The verse begins,So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” Luke began with the words, “so mightily grew” which means “thus and in this manner with power and dominion increased, became greater and augmented” “the word of God” or “the speech, utterance, mandate and decree belonging to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “and prevailed” which means “and became strong, wielded power and had strength to overcome”. Luke shared how “God's word” increased among the people in “Ephesus” and overcame all objections and opposition against it.

When we think through Luke's words in this verse, we learn how “God's word” increased among the “Ephesian” people, and the “power” of the word had unimpeded affect among them. This is what God desires in the lives of every person who surrenders themselves to His Son Jesus. Anyone who believes in Jesus will be forgiven of their sins, granted everlasting life and begin to “grow” in their knowledge of God's word and their relationship with Him. Those who are wise yield to Jesus and submit themselves to all His “word” and the effective change it will produce in their lives.

Next time Luke shares how,Paul purposed in the spirit … to go to Jerusalem, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
