Life to Your Soul and Grace to Your Neck - Proverbs 3:22

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “The LORD by wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding has he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, let not them depart from your eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion”, and in chapter three and verse twenty-two of Proverbs Solomon said sound wisdom and discretion will be, life to your soul, and grace to your neck” where we read,

So shall they be life unto your soul, and grace to your neck.

The verse begins, “So shall they be life unto your soul, .... Solomon began with the words, “so shall they be life” or “then and at that time they, Jehovah God's wisdom and understanding, exist as living that is lively, active, fresh and sustenance filled” “unto your soul” which means “toward your, the son of Solomon's, heart, mind, soul, desires, conscience, living being and seat of emotions and affections”. Solomon told his son that wisdom and understanding would cause lively, active and fresh living to his heart, mind and will.

The verse continues, “... and grace to your neck.” Solomon added the words, “and grace” or “and favor, charm, elegance and acceptance” “to your neck” which means “unto your, the son of Solomon's, throat or neck of the body”. Solomon said wisdom and understanding would also exist as favor and charm to his throat and neck.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how Solomon told his son how important having wisdom and understanding was to his manner of living. God wants us to have His wisdom and understanding, and because He loves us, He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His wise and intelligent ways to manage our way of living.

Next time Solomon says, then shall you walk in your way safely, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
